The World Law Congress 2025 brought together prominent global leaders, jurists, and institutions in the Dominican Republic to celebrate the rule of law and democratic values. His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain presided over the closing ceremony, highlighting the importance of international legal dialogue and the defense of democratic institutions.

One of the main highlights of the event was the presentation of the World Peace & Liberty Award to Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the Supreme Court of the United States, in recognition of her lifelong commitment to justice and equality.

During the opening ceremony, Javier Cremades, president of the World Jurist Association, emphasized the support and generosity of a country that has embraced this Congress with remarkable enthusiasm. Speaking from Santo Domingo, he expressed deep gratitude to the Dominican Republic—for the warmth of its people, the engagement of its public and private institutions, and especially for the inspiring involvement of its younger generations.

This Congress once again demonstrated that dialogue is the most powerful tool to uphold the rule of law. And when that commitment is shared, the results resonate beyond borders.
